Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric awarding $1,000 scholarships in 2023 to qualified high school graduates
Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric is providing $1,000 scholarships to qualified high school seniors graduating in 2023.
The Steele- Waseca board of directors this
past year voted to increase the scholarship amount effective for the eligible 2023 high school graduates. One scholarship will be presented at each participating school. Scholarship eligibility required by Steele-Waseca includes:
- Applicants must currently be high school seniors, who will be continuing their education on a full-time basis at a two- or four-year technical school or college.
- Applicants must be dependents of a Steele-Waseca member.
Each participating school is responsible for administering any other eligibility requirements, the selection of their school’s Steele-Waseca scholarship recipient, and the disbursement of the scholarship dollars from Steele-Waseca.
All eligible high school seniors should contact their guidance counselor or scholarship administrator for more information.
In 2022, Steele-Waseca awarded $500 scholarships to 17 high school senior graduates. The co-op’s scholarship program has awarded $198,250 in scholarships since the program was established in 1954. A portion of the funds to support these scholarships come from unclaimed capital credit equity.
