1955 SWCE Service Truck Repainted

Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric (SWCE) is pleased to offer members a piece of history with an actual 1955 service truck on display. The truck has been repainted (not fully restored) and is on display at SWCE by the drobox.

SWCE traded the service truck in at the Waseca Dodge Dealer many years ago. The dealership then sold it to Donald & Lee Zellweger from New Richland, MN. They owned the truck for years and sold it back to SWCE in September 2003. This truck was featured in the 1955 Dodge Truck Buyer’s Guide publication that was printed in 1994.

SWCE has been storing the truck and now has it repainted by Kappy’s Collision Center, Owatonna and placed on display at SWCE headquarters. This is a wonderful piece of SWCE history for members to enjoy!

Pictured is Janice Prescher with husband Michael of Pine Island, MN. Janice is the daughter of Donald & Lee Zellweger who purchased the 1955 SWCE service truck after SWCE traded it in at the Waseca Dodge Dealer many years ago. The dealership then sold it to Donald & Lee Zellweger from New Richland, MN.
