Hydro power generation project
Minnesota State University-Mankato mechanical engineering students (seated left) presented their findings to Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric personnel, April 12, on the design of a hydro power generation system at Steele-Waseca Member Ron Maas’ residence in rural Faribault. Maas sought technical assistance from Steele-Waseca in attempting the renewable generation.
Steele-Waseca applied with MSU-Mankato to see if such a project would be possible and/or feasible. The students determined the payback on the investment would not make the project feasible. “I thoroughly appreciate your input from your side of the fence,” said Maas. The students expressed appreciation for the applicable experience outside of the classroom. Steele-Waseca was honored to have the opportunity to work with these outstanding students at MSU-Mankato.
