Get energized about a career in energy!

Great River Energy (GRE), Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric’s wholesale energy provider, will be hosting its Cooperative Careers Camp in June.
This is a great opportunity for high school students to get a taste of the power industry and camp registration is open. This is GRE’s second year offering the free one-day camp and have added three additional careers: survey, GIS (Geographic Information System), and UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System).
GRE stated the camp is for students entering grades 9-12 and 2025 graduates.
Participants will learn more about energy careers, tour a substation and peaking plant, do hands-on activities in the areas of metering and apparatus, see equipment used by their line technicians and learn about telecom, HVDC, and the previously mentioned additions to this year’s camp.
This free one-day camp will take place Thursday, June 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Elk River. To register, visit: https://greatriverenergy.com/careers/cooperative-careers-camp/.
